A LOYAL FAN UPDATE - 6/15/21
/Fans!
This past weekend, the Leadership Team of CSz Philadelphia (Don Montrey, Kristin Finger, Emily Davis, Darryl Charles, and Dave Jadico) took a tour of our theater after a 15-month absence!
Our mission: to walk through the space and start planning for reopening in the early Fall.
It was great to see each other in person after months of weekly (sometimes daily) Zoom calls.
To be honest, all that time spent together on camera made the in-person reunion pretty seamless.
Delightful and seamless.
It felt good stepping back into the lobby of the theater, even though dusty t-shirts looked up at us longingly and the posters of planned and abandoned comedy shows sadly hung on the walls as memorials to fallen productions that never were.
We sat in the theater, walked the stage, and looked in the dressing room. We even checked the bathrooms.
Yep, still two of them.
Even though it’s been over a year, it felt like very little time had passed since we were last there. We all said something to the affect of:
“It feels normal, but different.”
We’re improvisers, not poets.
Anyway, I am sure you know what that feels like; if not, you will.
After two and a half hours, we parted ways with a 5 page to-do list and a lot of good work ahead of us over the next few months. We’ll need that time to get the space safe, clean, and ready for our Players, Staff, and Fans to come back to our live comedy shows and classes.
When will that be?
We’ll have an official announcement in Early July.
Stay tuned!
