Virtual Team Building USING APPLIED IMPROV
Learning and Laughter from your Laptop
CSz Philadelphia provides over 25 years of improv training and skills to help virtual teams connect, communicate, and collaborate.
Whether your team has just made the shift or has always been virtual, our mix of team building and skill-building is a fun and unique way to foster connection and group dynamics despite the distance.
As the home to Philadelphia's longest-running improv comedy show, ComedySportz, CSz Philadelphia knows the power of improvisation on the field and on the screen.
By the time your colleagues have stopped laughing, they might even realize they’ve learned something.
Virtual Program One: Connection (75 minutes)
Focusing on fun and camaraderie, your CSz Facilitator will guide the group through a series of improvisational activities specially designed for virtual connection. Along with laughter, play, and recharging, participants will learn these skills to enhance their virtual presence:
Staying present and focused
Giving and taking space for improved group communication flow
Rolling with mistakes – learning quickly and moving forward
Supporting each other’s offers for the benefit of the entire team
After just 45 – 60 minutes, your team will get a boost of energy and the confidence that their team ‘has their back.’
Virtual Program Two: Communication & Collaboration (90 - 120 minutes)
This program develops skills to enhance relationships and collaborative behavior. It begins with activities explored in Program One, setting the foundation for behavior change. This is followed by exercises exploring:
listening without pre-conceived agendas or scripts
adapting to change and flexing during uncertainty
committing to choices with confidence
Participants will leave with behavior skills which will improve their interpersonal relationships, their productivity and their ability to engage, whether remote or IRL.
Learning While Laughing
Both programs are designed to create a safe environment in which participants feel comfortable letting go of inhibitions, laughing, and seeing each other from a new perspective. Every activity is group-based and supportive; no one is singled out for performance unless they volunteer.
After each exercise, our expert facilitator leads a discussion in which participants examine the skills needed to perform the exercise successfully, and how they can immediately apply these new skills to enhance productivity in both the virtual and in-person workplace.
Programs are designed for up to 20 participants, and can be expanded to include more. An additional facilitator is added for every 20 additional participants. Be sure to discuss your participant number needs with our Applied Improv Director.
These programs are delivered through the free virtual communication platform, Zoom. If you would like the program delivered on a different platform, please discuss that with our Applied Improv Director (Please Note: an additional fee may be added).
