Jake Lucas :: artistic director

Jake Lucas (they/them) is a queer, nonbinary artist and educator based in Lenni-Lanape land (Philly) since 2016. They currently serve as ComedySportz Philly's Education Coordinator. Their specialty in play, game, and social and emotional learning (SEL) helps ensure everyone can put the imp in impulse. Jake has improvised, devised, and consulted with the City of Philadelphia, Playworks, Fab Youth Philly, Pseudonym Productions and more. You can see them performing in the cast of RollPlay, Hallmarkable, Be Kind, The Neighborhood, and, of course, ComedySportz.


Siobhan O’Hara :: EDUCATION DIRECTOR

Siobhan O’Hara is a Philly based comedian performing improv for 10 years in New York and Philadelphia. In addition to ComedySportz, Siobhan worked as a cast member of The She-Quel and Dun-Dun: Improvized Crime Unit. Siobhan has performed at Philly Improv Theater, Crossroads Comedy Theater, performs in This Week Sucked at The Lab in Ambler and is a member of the indie improv team, Daddy Issues. She is also the co-author of The Comedy Improv Handbook.


Darryl Charles :: Diversity & Inclusion Director

Darryl Charles is a comedian based mostly out of Philadelphia. His debut album “Black Gentrifier” debuted at #3 on the iTunes Comedy Charts and is currently streaming on your favorite places to do that. He’s been seen on The Travel Channel’s “Mysteries At The Museum”, the Comedy Central web series “Delco Proper”, and some commercials. He does stand-up and has opened for a variety of better known performers like: Ted Alexandro, Justin Willman, Tommy Davidson, Dave Attell, Patrice O’Neal, and Dick Gregory. He performs, teaches, and coaches improv comedy and has been a member of ComedySportz Philadelphia since 2011. He is a sketch comedy writer and performer, doing most of that work with the sketch group The Layoff Kids. They have been featured performers on Funny or Die. He’s also the co-host of DTF: The Darryl and Timaree Funhour, the greatest sex-ed/comedy/gameshow, and now podcast, in the known universe. Contact

Bobbi Block :: Applied Improv Director

Bobbi is a founding member of CSz Philadelphia (back when it was just ComedySportz Philadelphia), which started in 1991. She books and designs our corporate workshops-offering to build communication, creativity, teamwork skills and more—for companies large and small. She has over 20 years experience in the team building field and has worked with hundreds of companies nationally and internationally. Contact 


Dave Jadico

Dave Jadico :: technical director

Dave oversees the production aspects of the CSz Philadelphia theatre and all CSz produced shows. He joined ComedySportz in 1994, served as the Artistic Director from 2007 to 2018, and also works in Philadelphia as an actor/musician, having appeared at 1812 Productions, The Walnut, The Arden, InterAct, EgoPo, and MumPuppet for which he won a Barrymore Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Musical in The Fantasticks. He’s studied physical comedy with the greats, Maestro Antonio Fava, Fred Garbo and Bill Irwin. Alan Williams :: Financial Business Manager

Alan has been performing improv comedy for over 20 years, and has worked at comedy theaters in New York, North Carolina, Seattle, and Philadelphia. Originally trained at the famed Upright Citizens Brigade theater in NYC, Alan has been seen in myriad shows of all types of comedy: staged readings, short- and long-form improv, musical improv, and even in the bat (improv performed in complete darkness). He has taught classes with ComedySportz Philadelphia for several years--both in person and virtually--and is excited to be teaching workshops focused on good scene work. Contact


Mary Carpenter :: Business Manager

Mary Carpenter has been with ComedySportz Philadelphia since 1992, where she has worked as a performer, teacher, Education Director and Artistic Director. She holds degrees in theatre from Northwestern University and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Her improv training began at The Second City in Chicago and continued with Mick Napier, Keith Johnstone, Joe Bill, Todd Stashwick, Jill Bernard, and Jeff Wirth. She has appeared in plays with Stephen Colbert, and David Schwimmer, and developed and performed in an original two-woman show with SNL alum Ana Gasteyer. Mary co-founded Philadelphia’s first non-profit Improvisation Company, Freefall Productions where she produced Philly’s first women’s improv ensemble 13 Skirts, as well as the fully improvised musical Choosical. In addition to ComedySportz Philadelphia, Mary’s improvisation experience includes City of Nutterly Love with The Second City, Dangerous Fools with Thomas Fowler, ‘Til Death Do Us Part, Wisdom Teeth and Smoochy & Me. Mary also works as an actress, writer and director. Most recent projects include directing I Love You, You're Perfect Now Change at Act II.
