A seriously comedic faithful parody of classic black and white Noir movies. Watch Detective Improv struggle with their vice and a case that might be the thing that finally breaks them. With ample opportunity for suggestions, the audience will offer up the clues and so much more for a very custom movie-going live-theater comedy experience that’s not to be missed.

With cold weather comes murders in cold blood and trails of evidence growing…cold. Come heat up with this live mystery that parodies the classic noir movies of old hollywood.

Our 100-seat theater is comedy-intimate and ADA accessible. You get great sight-lines, comfy seats, private bathrooms, and a concessions stand with moderately-priced snacks and drinks. Everything you need is conveniently located in our space.

Cast

Mary Carpenter has worked as an actor, improviser, teacher, director and writer in Philadelphia for over 25 years. A graduate of Northwestern University and LAMDA, Mary has been with CSZ Philadelphia since 1992, where she has worked as a performer, teacher, Education Director and Artistic Director. Mary’s improvisation experience also includes City of Nutterly Love with The Second City, Dangerous Fools ‘Til Death Do Us Part, Wisdom Teeth, Choopy & Me, 3M, and I’ll Have What She’s Having, as well as  publishing her book: Do Or Do Not: How To Improvise Like A Jedi. Most recently, she created and co-directed  Blank: An Improvised Star Wars Story. Mary also works as an actress, writer and director.

Keane Cobb is a writer, actor, improviser and stand-up comedian that has been performing since 2008. Keane has performed in numerous festivals and clubs in multiple states. He is currently a company member and teacher at ComedySportz.

Nate Holt has been a Comedysportz company member since 2005. He was a theatre artist in his 20s, a video producer in his 30s, and is now a political organizer in his 40s. In his 50s he will probably open a muffin shop or a pet store or something. Theatrical credits include work at Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre, Azuka Theatre, Brat Productions, Shakespeare in Clark Park, Delaware Theatre Company, and 41 episodes of "Walking the Planes"; a web series produced by Magic: The Gathering.

Yasmine Beydoun is a Philly-based improviser. She’s grateful to have been part of some pretty cool shows around town, including CSz’s Hallmarkable, Improv Double Feature, and Off the Record. She is incredibly excited to be in Detective Improv this February!

Megan Colombo is a Philadelphia-based improviser, performer and writer. She's trained and performed at ComedySportz Philly, Philly Improv Theatre, Sidequest Theatre, and The Focus Theatre. Recent credits include Don't I Know You at the ComedySportz double feature, Love Lab at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, and the 2025 Steelstacks Improv Comedy Festival. You can find her performing around town in her solo show STUCK with Megan and alongside her indie team, Remain Dog

Kris O'Brien has a B.A. in Theater and Education. By day she teaches Theater to middle school students, and by night she has been performing improv with ComedySportz Philly for over 23 years! You gotta give it to her, that little minx has moxie!

DJ Gleason is an actor and comedian based in Philadelphia. As an actor he’s appeared in shows at Delaware Theatre Company, Act II Playhouse, Quintessence Theatre Group, Fulton Theatre and more. As a comedian, he’s performed with ComedySportz Philadelphia, Philly Improv Theater, Impulse Control Freaks and more.

Rob O’Neill is an actor, writer and improv performer based out of Philadelphia. He has been a member of the improv teams The Future, Not Yet Rated, Study Hall, Double Play and Outside Voices, as well as the sketch comedy team Tiny Arson. He has appeared in numerous shows around the city, including ‘SorkinCorp,’ Shark Tank: The Final Episode,’ ‘Town,’ ‘Todorov’s Dirty Laundry,’ 'The Mirror Zone' and the House of Solitude shows ‘McNickel’ and ‘A Galaxy Uncherished.’
